Pest Problems Change With the Season
Pest activity is not the same year-round, and knowing what to expect makes a big difference. With over 16 years of experience, we understand exactly what is active and when.
- Spring often brings ants and ticks.
- Early summer leads into termite activity.
- Mid- to late summer is mosquito and stinging insect season.
- Fall can bring rodents looking for shelter.
This experience allows us to act quickly and treat the problem correctly the first time.
Our Pest Control Services
We provide targeted pest control services designed to solve real problems, not just temporarily cover them up. Whether you are dealing with a small issue or a full infestation, we focus on getting it handled the right way.
We can help with:
Rodents
Rats & Mice: They are clever—no doubt about it. But we’re always one move ahead. With sharp strategy and smarter solutions, we outthink, outmaneuver, and eliminate the problem so you can reclaim your space.
Termites
Termites: The most expensive pest problem a home can have—so getting the diagnosis right really matters. Proper termite identification keeps you from flushing your hard-earned money away on the wrong treatment.
Smart science beats scare tactics every time.
Ticks
Ticks: By far the scariest pest on this list—ticks are sneaky, and deer ticks can transmit Lyme disease (definitely not something you want). Dog ticks are much more common, but to the untrained eye, they can look just as alarming.
Here’s the science shortcut: white markings = no Lyme, but they can spread Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
Wasps
wasps: Bald-faced hornets, yellow jackets, and paper wasps are common around homes, and they will defend their nests if you get too close. The good news? Stings are usually avoidable—away from the nest, these insects aren’t very aggressive.
Respect the space, and problems are rare.
Bedbugs
Bed Bugs: Arguably the grossest insect on the page—it feeds on your blood and leaves the evidence behind on your bed. Yuck.
The good news? Bed bugs are very manageable. They don’t fly, move slowly, and mostly stay put, which makes them easier to control with the right science and the right plan.
Ants
ants: Carpenter ants and sugar ants are the usual suspects around here.
Here’s the quick science-y way to tell them apart: the teeny-tiny ones are sugar ants; the bigger ones are probably carpenter ants. Carpenter ants chew wood (bad for houses). Sugar ants hunt sweets (bad for pantries). Same bug family—very different hobbies.
Mosquitoes
mosquitos: Not just a health risk—mosquitoes are a guaranteed way to ruin a nice night outside. Many companies lean hard on fear, listing every disease imaginable. As a Certified Associate Entomologist, I can say this with confidence: these species SUCK.
Flies
Flies: From tiny flies in the kitchen to big flies in the attic—flies are always a source issue. With lots of species and plenty of variables, it takes a careful inspection to track down what’s really causing the problem.
That’s why fly issues are not eligible for free inspections.
Cockroaches
Cockroaches: The most common city roach is the German cockroach. Think kitchens and bathrooms—warm, tight crevices with easy access to food and water.
If your home feels like a five-star buffet with heated floors, they’ve already checked in
Fleas
Fleas are tiny, fast-moving parasitic insects that feed on the blood of animals and humans. Known for their powerful jumping ability, they can quickly infest homes, pets, and yards. Flea bites often cause itching, irritation, and can lead to allergic reactions or the spread of disease. Professional pest control is essential to eliminate fleas at all life stages and prevent reinfestation.
Each service is designed to be efficient, practical, and built around your specific situation, so you get real results without wasted time or unnecessary treatments.

See What Customers Are Saying

Bug Hunt was able to come the very next day after I contacted him, with a referral from someone else. I was having issues with small bugs getting in around my windows. He explained exactly what he was doing, what spray he was using, and about the life-cycle of the small critters. He also caulked around the window areas where they were able to get in. Pricing very reasonable.
Great guy, Great Company.

I recently had a great experience with Bug Hunt. Brandon was professional, responsive, and clearly takes a lot of pride in his work. Living in New England, pest issues can be unpredictable, but he handled everything quickly and confidently, showing up on time, explaining the process, and making sure all my questions were answered. What really stood out was how thorough he was, not only treating the problem but also pointing out potential entry points and giving helpful tips to prevent future issues. It’s rare to find someone so reliable and detail-oriented, and it’s obvious Brandon truly cares about his customers. I’ll definitely be using Bug Hunt again and recommending them to anyone who needs pest control.

Great company. We bought a new house and didn’t realize there was a mice problem in the basement. Brandon came in a few times and found a few holes in our foundation where they were getting in and he filled those holes and helped us get rid of the rest of the mice. I couldn’t recommend him more! Very knowledgeable and professional.

About Brandon Lee
Bug Hunt is led by Brandon Lee, an Associate Certified Entomologist and pest control professional since 2010. He’s also a lifelong enthusiast of insects, reptiles, the environment, and—most importantly—helping people overcome their fear of creepy crawlies, both inside and outside the home.
Brandon’s approach is simple: put people at ease at home and bring excitement through hands-on, live animal demonstrations when education is the goal. Whether it’s protection, prevention, or curiosity, he believes knowledge goes a long way toward peace of mind.
At Bug Hunt, our priorities are clear: people and public health first, the environment second, and ourselves last. We’re a small operation run by science nerds who love bugs and enthusiasts of classic ’80s action-sci-fi movies. We take our work seriously—but not ourselves.
We offer world-class service without the pretentious sales pitch. In fact, we don’t have salespeople. The person you talk to is the person who shows up and does the work. No upselling, no unnecessary treatments, and no blanket spraying of pesticides without concern for your home or the planet.
We care deeply about the environment and believe in using the least amount of control necessary to solve the problem. Our goal isn’t to wipe out insects—it’s to create safer spaces for people while respecting the world we all share.
Bug Hunt is about doing things the right way, having a little fun along the way, and helping build a better world—one bug at a time.
